Can't switch application while entering wpa key

I was recently in the situation, that I needed to enter a WPA pass phrase which was sent to me in a short message as a picture (Yes, I know, this is not a common way to get a password). I tried to switch between the Settings and the Messages app, but this was not possible while the password entry was active. I ended up writing the password down on paper to circumvent this shortcoming in the UI. Please allow to switch between apps while entering a WPA pass phrase. It is pointless to have multitasking and then disable it when people need it.
