WLAN hotspot (tethering) often fails to start.

Just to make it clear: I understand that I cannot use WLAN and the hotspot at the same time.

Sometimes when I start the hotspot it works perfectly. It just starts in less than a second. But most often the indicator blinks for half a minute and then it works or not. If it fails to start it might work the next time. Strangely enough it seems to work better if I turn on, yes ON, WLAN before I start the hotspot. If WLAN is on when I start the hotspot it correctly turns WLAN off. Even more strange, sometimes the hotspot turns WLAN on if it was off from the beginning. It is like the hotspot logic can't determine the WLAN status as well as the indicators.

This bug has annoyed me since Jolla started to support the hotspot and it is still the same with Sailfish 2.0. Actually it is a bit worse with this latest revision. Before I could use the fast actions to control the connections but with this release it seems these fast keys live their own life.

I can confirm this bug. While the hotspot itself always works (e.g. WLAN connection to other devices) the phone loses its internet link and tethered devices therefore can not connect to the internet. This occurs on Jolla TOH first generation.

The workaround for this is to disable the hotspot, reboot the phone and then enable it again. After a reboot it usually works for me.

You will basically notice the failure of the connectivity if the hotspot icon in the status bar is missing as well as the internet connection arrows.

For me the sequence is a bit different. When Hotspot hangs (often on second try after working fine first time), I go to Settings > Utilities and try to restart Networking. Now 9/10 times phone restarts automatically and after restart the hotspot can be used first time again. Only a handful few times, the networking service restart without restarting the phone and I can use hotspot - again only one time, next time it goes bonkers again! This with an Intex Aquafish on SFOS 2.2 with Vodafone 3G in SIM slot 1 and Airtel 2G in SIM slot 2. SIM1 as Data and SIM2 for calling.

Maybe it will also work with the Jolla C.
