Would be nice if some (at least native) apps would autostart when restarting (booting) phone. For instance, every time I restart my phone I start both People and Calendar, there should be an option which apps would autostart.

Paradoxical: this is possible for Android apps only (mostly against the user's wishes)

@objectifnul Out of curiosity: why is this against user's wishes? You can control which apps are allowed to do this. I'm sure many users are very happy with it.

By the way, it's not exactly the same: Android apps can be started in the background upon reboot. This allows them to send notifications to the Events View, but they are not on the Home Screen after a reboot. For native apps, this step is not necessary, since they use the native background notification service anyway. What MikaN is asking for is to pin apps to the Hone Screen, so they are always in the same place when you reboot.

@MikaN Yes, that would be nice. The suggestion has been made before to allow users to 'pin' certain apps to the home screen so that they are already there after a reboot. So, this is a duplicate request.

I found this question, but saw that it has been closed as a duplicate: https://together.jolla.com/question/1044/pinning-coversapps/

Please see the idea mentioned here: https://together.jolla.com/question/90529/request-to-fix-a-bug-true-multitasking/

And very clearly described here: https://together.jolla.com/question/62271/feature-request-sticky-appscovers/

If you agree that these previous questions cover your request, please consider closing this one and add.votes and comments to the other one in order to bump the idea.

@bilgy_no1 Have you ever tried to prevent Google Services from auto-starting? I don't say it's impossible, I just say it's difficult.

@objectinfu there are no Google services on Sailfish, unless you decide to install Google Play Services. Alien Dalvik does not have this, which is why many Android apps don't work.

OK: try with Aptoide.

I'm not sure what you mean now. I don't allow Aptoide to start in the background, so I don't get notifications until I open the app myself. Seems to work as intended. Even if it would somehow connect to their servers, this is still not Google Play Services.

I'm also using nodroidauto.service. Just like you, I'm only running Dalvik in very specific circumstances (mainly banking services, with very limited permissions). In Settings=>Android support, I do not allow Android apps to access contacts In Settings=>Applications, no Android app is allowed to run in the background. Nevertheless, Aptoide must be closed manually every time I start Aliendalvik.

Ok, this is probably a duplicate, pinning apps to Home Screen (Autostart from boot) is probably the same thing I wish. I'll close this one.
