@objectifnul Out of curiosity: why is this against user's wishes? You can control which apps are allowed to do this. I'm sure many users are very happy with it.
By the way, it's not exactly the same: Android apps can be started in the background upon reboot. This allows them to send notifications to the Events View, but they are not on the Home Screen after a reboot. For native apps, this step is not necessary, since they use the native background notification service anyway. What MikaN is asking for is to pin apps to the Hone Screen, so they are always in the same place when you reboot.

Yes, that would be nice. The suggestion has been made before to allow users to 'pin' certain apps to the home screen so that they are already there after a reboot. So, this is a duplicate request.
