File Directory Cache Deletion
Using the native File Browser application, found that there's an ".pk-zypp-dist-upgrade-cache" file in home/, next to the nemo file, I'm on Saimaa (2.0.0.10), I can't delete it. Is it needed?, how can I delete it?
We have moved to a new Sailfish OS Forum. Please start new discussions there.

@Lykourgos - That folder is only showing because you have asked FileBrowser to 'show hidden files' - (denoted by the fact the file name begins with a period) it's likely hidden for a reason and so deleting it may have an undesirable effect. Personally, I will be leaving the folder where it is.
Spam Hunter ( 2015-11-14 19:13:23 +0300 )edit@Markkyboy, whilst I agree that when you do not know what you are doing then it's better not doing it, I would also like to know an official answer. Like the OP, I also do not like random files and folders cluttering my FS. This particular one was on my phone too, dating back about a year. I took a plunge and deleted it a while ago. I since then upgraded to Saimaa with no adverse effects and the folder has not reappeared, so I concluded that it was yet another one of those things that Jolla used at some point and then forgot about it, leaving it behind lying around and taking up space.
Any official info would be welcome. I can provide as many speculations as you wish.
pichlo ( 2015-11-15 12:44:54 +0300 )edit@pichlo - fair point. I was airing on the side of safety rather than potentially causing the OP unwanted problems, which is why I only commented, not answered. Seeing as you have deleted it in the past and suffered no problems, then I guess it is safe to delete it. As you say, official info would be better in cases like this.
