On SailfishOS 2.0 there's an inconsistency in accessing launcher from lock screen. When device is locked, the launcher is not available at all and the user has to use pulley menu to launch an app.

To solve this issue we can make the topmost row of lanucher accessible. It will be very useful especially when device is locked to have a consistent experience. It should be read-only just like launcher hinting on home, only to open few most frequent apps.

Note: This is not to have launcher hinting on lock screen, but to make part of launcher accessible via an edge swipe on lock screen when device is locked.

Looks like somebody does not get the idea of a lock screen. @AliNa, the whole point of a lock screen is to prevent an accidental activation of something when the phone is in your pocket or bag. To that end, the lock screen should not offer anything other than moving to one of the interactive screens, and even that should be in such a way that it is difficult to do by accident. What you are proposing flies directly in the face of the whole idea of a lock screen. You may as well not have it at all.

@pichlo, so please make it clear why the launcher is accessible from the lock screen.

If the problem was what you're talking about, the launcher wasn't accessible from the lock screen at all.

@pichlo, furthermore, a pull is more likely to happen (to activate pulley menu) than an edge swipe and tap.

@venomousbane, I'm talking about device lock that you need to enter the code to unlock. The whole launcher is accessible from the lock screen, no problem with that. I want it partially available even when device is code locked.

FYI, Quickbar app has this functionality already, except at the moment it does not allow to select which apps to put in favourites directly (soon(tm) to come). Plus, you get list to latest launched apps and mfu's. Try it out!

I can't find a download link for SFOS 2.0.0; however problems with device lock are among known issues for 1.1.9.

Are you talking about Harbour or OpenRepos? OpenRepos takes care of pre-SFOS 2.0.0 compatibility. From Harbour, you will get only the latest, which is targeting SF2.0.0

Oops, I had installed from Warehouse. Thanks!

Welcome! Please share any feedback about the app! :)

Unfortunately it doesn't work with a locked device, as the known issues say for 1.1.9. I hope it will be fixed.
