Browser password saving

The default browser offers to save credentials (login+password) for sites which use the HTTP basic authentication, but not for sites which use form-based authentication (i.e. cookies and HTML form with an <input type="password"> form entry). How can I save credentials also for the cookies-based auth?
This is SailfishOS 2.0, but IIRC it was the same with the previous version.
On the similar note, is there a way to turn off this "saving of credentials" ?
