General Email not working on Jolla Phone [answered]
Hello Community,
This is my first posting here. I'm new to Jolla and SailfishOS. My brand-new Jolla Phone has arrived yesterday. I start to install all needed Updates to the Jolla Apps and the SailfishOS itself. My problem comes up with setting up the Email account. I want to set a Email with the General Email Option. I tab on General Email and nothing happens. The same thing in Settings - Accounts. If I tab on Google for example a new screen appears. So it works, but not with the General Email option.
What I have doing wrong? Did you have any ideas?
It seems to work on my end. Which version of the os?

I've got two Jolla phones in my network and both are using General Email connections. I've recently had to set up new accounts on both 2.0 and 1.1.7.28. 2.0 was easy, 1.1.7 was a little harder with SMTP settings but both worked. Does your email server offer web mail? If so, just test your accout in a browser to make sure that the issue isn't with the credentials. I did once have a problem with changing a General Email connection - I ended up removing the email store by hand (using SSH from my PC) in order to fix - but if this is a new device, it should work... As the Jolla mail app is not installed with the OS, you might try removing the app and reinstalling it but that is a bit brutal and shouldn't really be necessary.

I haven't any chance to add a Mail account because there's no way to type in any informations. The General Email setting gives me no additional screen for typing in the connection details. But as you asked, on my other devices the Email works flawlessly. But I get no chance here to setup my mail account. Also I have tried to uninstall the Mail App via the Jolla Store. Then reinstall it and the problem still exist.

ApB ( 2015-11-17 14:21:55 +0300 )editMore than one time :) Reboot changes nothing.
