I am hardly coping with the fact that conversation do not have their own windows (that was such a great feature of N9/00), but this 'bug/lack of feature' makes it even worse.
I want to be able to quickly switch between conversations without losing the messages I was typing.
This 'one message at a time' behavior hurts the multitasking nature of the device.

I can give you good news!
The next update (update 8) should have automatic saved drafts for messages. They are saved when you switch pages or close the app, and will be there when you go back to that conversation. That works for new messages too.

I'm especially glad you thought about new messages as well. The new behavior, as you describe it, sounds exactly like the one on N900 (=perfect).

Since there is no way to copy text directly from displayed emails; i select reply/forward and then copy the desired text. And i don't want the drafts folder to be piled up with messages each time I copy something from an email.
