Hey,

I'm back with the next question/problem :) This time I have some trouble with WhatsApp on my Jolla Phone. WhatsApp itself runs good. I can use my contacts, send and receive messages and pictures.

The problem comes up if WhatsApp must runs as background application at the home screen. After a while, when I check back on my phone, I see WhatsApp running, tab on the home screen widget and see the circle as a sign that the application is start up. Then WhatsApp start to work and receive messages. Before that WhatsApp doing nothing! So I have the feeling that the App will quit itself after a while.

The summary, WhatsApp widget is shown as a running application at the home screen but really it's quit and don't work. This problem occurs if I'm logout and wait for a while (around a half hour or so).

What's wrong with it?

this happens with other apps too, like sailorgram for example. this is since 2.0.0.10 the apps get freezed when too much memory is consumed. my workaround is to close all the other opened apps, especially browser after usage

Really?!

Steady I have only run WhatsApp, Email and the Phone App. From time to time the Message App to send a sms. The browser (Web Pirate) I use very seldom and if I do it I close them directly after usage.

Crazy memory management. :)

UPDATE:

Now I have tested your workaround and let only WhatsApp running at the homescreen. The App opens without the startup circle but don't recieve messages! So I quit WhatsApp, restart it and, oh wonder, it start to recieve the messages. I'm not sure that the memory is the only problem. :(

I believe we have a bug here with the Android emulator.

is your question regarding freezing or not receiving messages ?

With freezing I have no trouble. But WhatsApp will not work as background service. See my additional comment here:

As WhatsApp is minimized to home screen sometimes it received messages, some times not. If I restart the App and run it as a foreground App it works very well.
