is there a way to force facebook notifications sync from command line?

I'm trying to build a workaround for this problem:

I thought that I could use a systemd timer to periodically launch a facebook sync, as explained here:
https://together.jolla.com/question/16434/cronjob-on-sailfish/
But before that, I need to know if there's a way to force the syncronization from the command line.
