I finally got my Jolla phone recently:) Just have some questions about certain things.Looking forward to exploring and using it as the only phone.

How is the situation today if you have encrypted email? Are you able to read and respond directly with the native email client? As i didnt quite find a pgp option in it.

And im quite new about how to connect and use vpn, as i only have the configuration files .ovpn How do i start to use it with Securefishnet?

Hey, I got mine as well. Ordered Nov 19th, arrived Dec 14th. So jolla shop is alive. It is my second jolla phone, if I put them together it almost makes a jolla tablet:-)

Good point:) May have to get a second one later on for backup. How are you enjoying it? I guess quite much;)

Hi etsoy,

On encryption of mail you might find these posts worth reading:

And yes, vpn is not only possible, there is also open vpn available:

https://together.jolla.com/question/123193/use-openvpn-with-openvpn-rig/

Please always try using search before filing questions and use more descriptive titles. Do not put more than one question in one post, but rather split them into single ones, as it makes them much easier for the community to answer.

Thanks a lot for the information:) Will split the questions up to more next time. Im curious to know tho, if the vpn would effect the battery the same as using the native client Securefishnet?

OpenVPN with SecureFishNet:

  1. Put .opvn / .key /.crt files all into the same folder. Location of folder with those files doesn't matter - important is that the files are all in the same one.

  2. Open Securefishnet app and use pulley menu to setup new connection. Chose .opvn config file from your folder, set name for connection and enter password/username if necessary.

  3. Click start and it should work... Else try comptability mode. Hope that works for you as well :-)

Btw: Make sure your config file (.opvn) doesn't contain any special characters - SecureFishNet doesn't like it :-)

Great explanation, but what if i have 2 different .opvn files in the folder. Can i make it connect to only one at a time? As i tried to just select one like you mentioned. But it just wont connect through. Will have a look at it again tho.

+1 Thanks for adding your information, @caprico! (I took the liberty to edit a typo in the title)

@etsoy: Yes this works. I'm using 3 different .opvn files. SecureFishNet let's you add up to three connections. Once set up you can choose the connection via pulley menu. I hope you can make it work. Maybe also check the comments there https://openrepos.net/content/korppi/securefishnet

@lakutalo: Thanks :-)
