duplicating ambiences

I could, maybe, get used to use ambiences as profiles, but:

  • i do not want wallpapers to change (mostly ugly)
  • neither I like pre defined sounds (usually awful)
  • nor the included color scheme (never nice)

I'd rather use copies of the SAME AMBIENCE with my own sound and color selection, named 'quiet', 'meeting', 'home'. Is that possible? And is it possible to prevent the copies to revert to their standard settings, but keep my personal fine and tasteful tuning? (short of trying to learn tu build my own ambience RPM's and wishing for a ambience toolbox software)

You don't need to build RPM's. If you know how to organize and configure the files (.ambience, sounds.index, images and audio files), you can just move your ambience folder to /usr/share/ambience/
