Do you guys actually realise that you are asking to change the whole UI concept cause you don't get why it was done this way and are so used to buttons and in-your-face guerilla stuff that you do not even recognize how fantastic the idea and the implementation is in the first place.

Just needed to steam off...

@chemist: let's avoid any offensive wording. One possible solution would be to actually guide these users with more comprehensive how-to/tutorial material with screenshots. I see no reason to steam off ;) The feedback is awesome, it just needs to be directed towards doing it together a bit more...

@eric I just could not hold it any more and before I write this as intro to an answer... requesting major changes to the whole UI concept is just plain stupid - like on talk.maemo.org I will try my best to guide and teach without imploding often (bs and foobar are recognized words in geek language)

Maybe it would be nice to have an application to record stuff you do on the phone so that anybody can demonstrate easily.

@chemist could you provide samples of "whole UI concept change" requests you're thinking of ? Sometimes it's hard to draw a line between "part of UI" and "whole UI". There's certainly room for improvement in the current UI, without changing the "concept".

@idiallo people asking for left/right pull on home-screen to pull to +9 covers, not realising that they have cover-actions in need of the pull gesture... others ask for a status-bar which breaks the design... pull-able favourites-bar for 6-8 favourites. They are so tooled by google, apple and co...
