The release notes for 2.0.1.7 state that Sailfish sharing options have been added to the sharing menu of Android apps.

Am I allowed to infer that they should also work? I'm not sure. Anyway, they don't.

I open an Android gallery app, share any image and select, say, mail. The Sailfish mail client opens as expected, but the image isn't attached.

Also, if I select the Sailfish messaging app, the image isn't passed to it to compose an MMS.

In Sailfish, Bluetooth shows up as an additional sharing option. It doesn't from within the Android apps, but that's probably a different issue.

Has anyone successfully shared content from Android apps to Sailfish accounts with 2.0.1.7?

I've tried sharing an URL from Firefox. The messaging app starts, but without any content.

Same here to. As for know, you can only copy the image or whatever from the Android directories of the app. If the app doesn't suck.

adding a link to the issue this release fixes: https://together.jolla.com/question/73380/androids-share-function-always-opens-email-app/

Sharing works when it is from one android app to another, e.g. from twitter to pocket.

In my case it works when sharing a tweet from android's twitter to the SF mail application. Other similar cases where text is involved works also.

I wasn't successful to share a picture from android to SF though.

@saturn: The bug you link to seems to be only very remotely related to this. It says: "Selecting the share function in Android applications, after Update 10, opens always a new mail." - And yes, it's fixed.

This issue, though, is about a new feature they claimed was introduced with 2.0.1.7: They claim that Android apps could now use any Sailfish account to share content. While this certainly was the intention (accounts are listed, can be selected, respective client opens up), the actual sharing doesn't work as the content doesn't appear in the Sailfish client. Except for text, as your experience shows.
