if you absolutely need to try it right now, I could provide you with an rpm, but as r0kk3rz said, it's not really ready yet.

Yeah I've been meaning to finish cleaning it up and post it on OpenRepos, since the main developer isn't really targeting Sailfish there are a bunch of graphical bugs and some major usage bugs to do with the device going to sleep.

If you have the SDK installed, you can just download and build it and it should (hopefully) just work.

So I guess in short, whilst it basically works, its not really ready for general consumption.

the main bugs are due to the fact its a mobile device, which goes to sleep regularly and generally has patchy network connections, so you end up restarting (and re-logging in) the app on a regular basis

@r0kk3rz at the moment it requires QtQuick.Controls to work, but I'm rewriting the QMLs to get a native look. I'm also trying to do the same with Quaternion https://openrepos.net/content/ilpianista/quaternion which is another Qt client with less QML to port :-)

However it should work better now since tensor replaced the JavaScript library with a Qt one (shared with Quaternion).

@ilpianista, the major bug was the connection dropping out when the phone goes to sleep and never recovers, so it wanted nemo-keepalive patching in.

On the matrix website I read that there is a libpurple connector lib. Shouldn't it be possible to enable a matrix account via native IM accounts similar to existing icq and skype accounts?
