hi guys,

today in the new: german providers fail at sending the correct time over their network. im not familiar with NTP and the like, but i wonder: is it possible to set up ntp on the phone? (or is it already there?) i found some old threads talking about ntp, but what i want here is a how-to to set up ntp on the phone (as long as theres no gui option).

so, when we have collected some info or step-by-step, this text can be changed - also the headline.

please, people who know what to do come here and share your knowlegde :-)

edit: thread closed because as of now (jan 2016) ntp is not available in sfos :-(

The question is related to this thread: https://together.jolla.com/question/5064/option-ntp-for-automatic-time-update/

btw: My Jolla on O2 Germany has the proper time without any intervention by me.

@Eierkopp mine works too w/o problems, but i just find it wird that time is done by the provider and not by standard ntp stuff. also in the thread you linked they said ntp is ongoing work - more than 2 years ago. so, maybe its all implemented already? nonetheless, we need a how-to :-)

@Markkyboy thanks man. so again the aversion to gplv3 prevents us from having nice stuff :-(
