If you set up an alarm recurring every day, it very much looks like it is disabled for the weekend, as Mon through Fri are lit up and Sat/Sun are dimmed.

Comparing alarms with different recurrences shows that the enabled days are in fact not lit up but taller, and weekends are dimmed, but this is very very far from obvious or consistent — right in the same screen for overall enabling of alarms, and everywhere else in sailfish, the indicator for enabled/disabled is lit/dim, not taller/shorter.

Surely more recognizable indicators would use lit/dim for enabled/disabled. (And perhaps tall/short for weekday/weekend if someone feels strongly that such differentiation is required, can't say I do.)

I agree, and think that the whitespace between Friday and Saturday is good enough to visually separate weekend days from the weekdays. I actually had to test if the alarm did register for Saturday when I first stumbled upon it, and dismissed the issue as UI bug at the time.

The whitespace is enough, but one could also use long for weekdays and short for weekends as in the suggestion in the question if more difference is needed. Lit/dimmed should only be used for enabled disable.

Related to https://together.jolla.com/question/12927/disabled-clock-alarms-are-shown-brighter-than-enabled-alarms/ which is about the other inconsistency in the alarms app.
