Reasons to prefer a Jolla over an Apple [subjective]

This post is a wiki. Anyone with karma >75 is welcome to improve it.
It would be great if all those who come here to rant and rave at Jolla for being uncaring and deceitful - or for Sailfish OS being buggy or limited - could please take a long hard look at the way Apple are treating their customers. Thank you.

- You aren't forced to backup your data to a cloud
- You don't need a credit card to create a Store account
- If something goes wrong, you can use recovery mode. On Fruit Mobiles you are forced to factory reset without a way to backup your data
- You can access your filesystem (and move files without iTunes or other software)
- SD card
- You don't lose your warranty if you modify the software (meanwhile jailbreaking iFruits is illegal in some countries IIRC)
- Patches (related to above)
- You can do whatever you want if you know how
- TOH! Hardware keyboards!
- Screws. Seriously, iFruits are just a bunch of components glued together
- Changeable SIM card
- Unlocked bootloader
- User removable battery
- Long support

- With a (forced?) cloud backup, you do not lose data on a factory reset ;-)

On the Jolla you can just tar your home folder (and the folder with app databases) onto the sd card and you are basically golden.
