So my post from earlier today was "not accepted" (after posting because it contained an offensive word

I've now had more than a dozen notifications telling me this

If the "moderators" on this message board are such that they need to keep telling me the same thing over & ove & over again, it doesn't hold out much hope for this board's future - probably indicative of the whole Jolla ethos.

Still better than blogspot: There my post silently disappeared because I wrote a generic IP address in the format 4 x triple-x. It took me a long time to work out, why my long post disappeared. Rather a loud crying forum than a silent blogspot ;-)

Sorry about your ordeal but this is how the whole system works.

Your post was first downvoted 4 times, then flagged offensive by several people (and to be fair, I believe it was more the general tone of your post rather than the single really offensive word you wrote that lead people to flag), after 3 flags it was automatically deleted and you kept receiving notifications. The next step is your account would be suspended allowing you to only post on questions you earlier created. The final step would be banning.

It might feel like a harsh and too severe "punishment" but at the end of the day, the point is we communicate openly without the need for any offensive language, that is the ethos part you're referring to.

Also note that this is not a traditional message board as users are directly involved and responsible as mentioned in the faq and the help.

@Cosmic_Kacapo could you consider accepting the answer above and close this couple of weeks old question?

@simo This is more of a comment than an answer, right? ;)
