@Odorobo - Unlikely, the device doesn't contain the relevant hardware, so, software will not make any difference.

What you are referring to is USB OTG and so similar questions were asked some 3 years ago and was answered. See this post from 2013;

I understood that the hardware itself is not capable of supplying power to the peripherials, but I would like to use an external powered HUB. Did anyone tried to fool the SoC to go to USB host mode?

Unfortunatelly Jolla doesn't provide power to external USB device.

I tried to connect USB flash drive on a Nexus 5 (with Sailfish) and it worked.
