can you at least try to give a reproducible description of what you tried to do and how it failed?

Yes, sorry for the delay, had some more bugs with the phone, together app was no longer able to log in AND no browser wanted to open up AND copy a line of text from a recieved mail into a browser window was not working ...

Well, at least it is all said: I can not save a serie in the calendar.

I wanted to add a jearly reminder in the calendar app. After entering all the data - repeating jearly, reminder a day before, which calendar to use - there was no way to save it. Given options was 'abort' and 'save', which was greyed out. I tried it for five times, did a reboot, and threw the phone in the waste bin. So it is still a calendar bug saving series, no matter if it is about a birthday or something else. Therefore, nthn, closing the question as answered is a joke, isn't it?

@Moo-Crumpus Given the way you described it ("can not add birthday series to calendar"), closing the question was adequate. nthn must have thought you tried to actually write to the birthday calendar.

I tried to follow your steps and added a new event to my calendar, set "repeat" to every year and "reminder" to "1 day before" - no problem at all,

When you enter the event, at which step exactly does the "Save"-option become greyed out? Normally it becomes active when you enter at least one character as the name of the event and then stays that way, because all other fields are already set to default values or aren't necessary. If you end up with an entry that cannot be saved, there has to be one moment when the "Save"-option changes from active to inactive.

... the save option is never available and keeps to be greyed out.

Why then do you assume the issue is in any way related to recurring events like birthdays etc.? I mean: If it never appears, it's also greyed out before you even change the corresponding setting from "only once" to "every year", right? But the "Save" option should be active right from the start, after you entered a name for the event. So I don't think your problem is related to recurring events.
