Why can't my Jolla play two sounds simultaneously?

The use case: while playing some music, I plug in the charger. The music stops, there is a noticeable moment of silence, then the charger popup shows up and the jingle plays, after which the music resumes.

Why can't the jingle play over the music? Back in the day, my old Windows 95 PC with a 90MHz Pentium could play two sounds simultaneously. Why cannot my 20 years newer phone, with 10 times better hardware?

I suspect this is by choice since you want sounds (sms mails etc) to be distinguishable and not get lost in the music.

It is possible, I suppose. Could we have that officially confirmed?

This happens also when you listen to music on cable headset or speaker and receive a new email. the email "biiiing" stopps the music. It's so irritating and to tell the truth old Nokia feature phones could do this already better..

But the music does not get interrupted when you use a bluetooth headset.

This does not apply to every combination, i.e. you could start playing music from ytube in the browser, and then start playback of a song in the media player. They both will play simultaneously. If you do that in the reverse order, media player will be stopped. So imo there seems to be some kind of prioritisation for the different sound channels.
