For example, Lufthansa will send you mobile boarding pass as a gif attachment to email.

Interestingly some way to decode gifs seems to exist in Sailfish already as File Browser shows correct preview for downloaded gifs, yet there is no full screen gif viewer.

same here, funny to see the .gif in the browser but not anywhere else.

Any changes planned on that feature?

The lack of .gif support is a bug!

Gallery shows JPEGs and PNGs, so to me it would seem like logical choice for viewing GIFs also. Gallery already supports showing GIFs from Pictures folder, but mime-type handler is still missing so opening the file to gallery from other applications doesn't yet work.

Gallery has yet to support animation in the gifs

Hi @veskuh, I copied my boarding pass .gif into the Pictures/Camera, but it did not show the .gif . Is the support gone with the last update? (I tried the .gif thing only today, so with the last update)

Same problem here. I can do the Check-In with a dumb phone from 3 years ago but not with a brand new smartphone?

It's not like it's such a complicated matter to show a gif in full screen, "we have the tecnology", you know?

@skull77 I think you could download the Android stock camera app. It comes with the gallery app and I think it can show gifs

1.0.4.20 Supports gifs now, so closing this question now. Animated gifs are another story (and another Together question if wanted), that's of way less priority than ability to get to the plane.

Noticed that gifs can't be zoomed? seen boarding pass with small gif 2d code which was not recognized because it was too small. could not use pinch-zoom, and when tapped to open sharing options, it did zoom to screen-width, but options did cover parts of the gif.

Static support is available and am closing this as there is below thread for supporting animated GIF's . Please vote there :) https://together.jolla.com/question/34192/feature-request-animated-gif-support/
