The phone comes with a tweaked version of Jolla's Sailfish that include a new feature called "Super Apps," which integrate local premium services into the software's gesture controls. Swipe up from the home screen and you can access local music streaming services or online retailers, etc..

How does this "Feature" affect regular Jolla Phone costumers?

Edit: Does Jolla planning to bring out it´s own "partner space" / "supper apps"?

They call it a nice feature but it actually just sounds like advertisements for premium content on your homescreen to me.

@XiliX: it is.

@evo3de: it won't exist on Jolla's own phone or tablet, don't worry.

@XiliX: That's the only source of revenue Jolla is going to count upon. Pray that they have a big success if you want to keep using SFOS.

Sounds a little like an unnecessary feature to me, not to sound pessimistic although as pointed out, those are needed for those phone manufacturers to generate extra revenue...

@DameCENO: Please read again what I wrote and what Jolla said. Jolla needs money to operate. They get no money from licenses. They get almost no money from selling devices. The money is intended to come from that feature. No Super Apps, no Jolla, no SailfishOS.

AFAIK it's only a new name for what was originally called partner space. Nothing new.

@cemoi71 It's just that the description of these "super apps" matches the description originally given for the partner space. Also, the partners in India were originally announced to use the partner space. Really seems to be a re-naming.

oups..yes i understood, just read further the engadget article and other news on the web. for it. logic. that's not for laziness but just a fast-reading (or diagonal-reading) deformation (if not reader not skilled)...

See here - it's definitely just partnerspace(s) - multitasking apps that get their own space in the home carousel. https://youtu.be/UQSG3zO6Kus?t=1m51s
