Can't setup Exchange account (stuck at "creating account" spinner)

I am trying to set up my university's exchange account on the Tablet. After manually entering the credentials and server address, the Tablet gets stuck at an infinitely spinning "creating account" ("Konto wird erstellt...") screen, between Phase 2 and 3 of https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201440117-

Is there any way to get logs/console output to see what is the problem?

I have the same problem: Tablet/SailfishOS 2.0.1.11 and GroupWise 2014R2 server.

I'm having the same problem on my Jolla C. The accepted solution didn't work for me.

Reinstalling Exchange support solved the issue for me.

Try to not set the "provisioning" option. That did the trick for me. (Account still doesn't sync but the creating account loop is gone)

OK, I got it working now.

To get some logs, I ran jolla-settings from the terminal and tried to add the Exchange account again. There were two Permission Error messages about the folders /home/nemo/.cache/msyncd/ and /home/nemo/.cache/msyncd/sync/.

I checked, and they somehow belonged to the user privileged:privileged. After chowning them to nemo:privileged like the rest of the folders in ~/.cache/, it worked. Mails and calendar are syncing now.

I have no idea if this is the intended solution and how it ended up borken in the first place though.

I am using OpenXchange with my jolla phone already an it works nearly perfect (sometimes contacts are not syncing anymore). User and group of the folders mentioned before on my phone is privileged:privileged and syncing works.

On my tablet I could not setup the Exchange account an got stuck in the described loop. After changing user and group for both folders and rebooting nothing changed and I can't setup my Exchange Account :-/

Any futher solutions here?

This is not a good answer and probably also not a good idea. When running jolla-settings from terminal, you presumably did that as the user nemo, and yes user nemo can't write in the directory msyncd. But when you start jolla-settings from the phone, you start the app "privileged" and so it works without touching the filesystem

I still have the same problem here, but the described solution does not work on my tablet trying to connect to OpenXchange. Is this bug tracked? Or are we both the only ones sharing this problem?

No, not only you two. I have the same problem: Tablet/SailfishOS 2.0.1.11 and GroupWise 2014R2 server. The described solution does not work for me as well. And on my Jolla Phone I have another problem: https://together.jolla.com/question/111893/bug-active-sync-nothing-sync-with-groupewise-mobility-server-2014/

I got the same bug (and workaround by changing the msyncd folder's owner to nemo) on the JollaC (2.0.2.43) again.

After first start of Jolla C I had the same problem, but it went away after first reboot. Hypothesis - on first boot I selected Finnish as the language, but the phone "spoke" English - after first reboot the language was corrected

Hey folks. Had the same problem. My solution was not to tick the box for "provisioning" on the second screen at the bottom. After that there was no "creating account" loop anymore. Maybe that helps someone.

I had the same issue, I was used to have my organisation's domain name written without a dot (it worked grat earlier), like companyoy, I changed that to company.oy and the exchange account got created within seconds. Of course you need to know that domain suffix, I guess it depends of the way how server is configured, in some cases it works easier.

I solved the problem on my Jolla Tablet so far. Ich changes the username notation from "user-account" (this works on my jolla 1) to "account@user" and deaktivated "provisioning" on the second screen at the bottom as described above. Now EAS is working on my Tablet so far.

BUT I think this is still a bug, that you get stuck in "create account..." spinner without an error message.
