battery charges depending on phone movement

It happens with a charger (not USB, not Jolla charger). I have to try with Jolla charger to see what happens.

I have the phone on the table, charging. When I take the phone on my hand it stops charging. If I put the phone back on the table it starts charging again. It also happens if I move the phone counterclockwise. So, if the phone is on the table charging and I turn the phone counterclockwise, with the phone staying flat on the table, it stops charging. If I turn it clockwise it starts to charge again.

When I say "charging" I mean that the charging icon appears and the white led is on. I don't know if the phone seems like not charging but in fact it is.

At first I thought it was a problem with the connector, but moving it does not provoke any change on the charging status, either if it is charging or not.

EDIT: It is definitely the charger. I have tried the Jolla charger and an usb connected to a computer and works ok.

If the charger is giving only a low voltage to the battery, this could occur when the accelerometer sensor is active (while moving the phone) and the phone temporary uses more power that the charger is able to give. This would show up as "no charging" while moving the phone.

You can use the builtin csd tool to find the charging level of your charger. It's a hidden app on Jolla, meant for developer testing, and can be started with dialing *#*#310#*#*or from terminal with commands:

Where can I find the charging level in the csd tool? I can see "Battery auto", "USB Charging auto" and "Discharging" in the Power section.

When rotating the phone on the table it does not stop charging while moving it. If I move it in one direction it stops charging and it does not start unti I move it in the other direction. It is like a switch.

When charging the values are between -400 and -180. When discharging between 140 and 180.

@Eismann How does your "movement" affect on that? The difference in those values shows that your charger is giving 320-580mA, which should be enough to keep the charging icon active. Jolla's own charger should give 650-950mA when counting the didderence.

The movement does not affect the values when discharging. When charging I can't say because the phone stops charging when I take it. As I said, it is like a switch. When moving it in one direction starts to charge and in the other direction stops. It depends on the direction of the movement, not just in the movement.

Sounds like a bad charger to me... I use a Huawei charger and did a lot worse than you, no problems for me. I encourage you to try the Jolla one, and if that one fails, definitely contact care@jolla.com as your USB port may be faulty.
