I have tried to install the android kindle app on the jolla tablet and although in the apptoid app store it says that it should work fine for the tablet, it downloads then just gives a message saying 'App not installed'. I have tried a variety of versions, all with the same result.

I have the andriod app installed on my jolla phone without any problems.

I did manage to install kindle for samsung, which works - however I would prefer to have that actual generic kindle one, rather than a samsung specific app - especially considering I dont have a samsung!

Hmm it works for me though, it's better to download it from the amazon app store ;-) I have it from there I believe and not from aptoide. Sometimes the app randomly crashes though but I think thats because of the Intel cpu maybe idk ;-)

Have you checked the books-app? it's native and works quite well for epubs. i for myself prefer open legally brought epubs over amazon ebooks ;)

Yes downloading it from the amazon store works, if either of @gabs5807 or @Pytox want to convert their comment to an answer, I'll mark it as correct

The kindle app for amazone books come from https://www.amazon.com/underground. You have to login and buy the kindle app for 0,00 €. You should get a link via email for installation of the amazone underground app. Then you also can install the kindle app.
