Hello Seb, the alpha1 version only support the first sim slot. Before i installed SailfishOS on my phone, i removed the sim card. My provider (here in germany) give me a G3 connection. G4 connection is not available at the settings. Does anybody have G4 on the Fairphone? Or is this a restriction of the alpha1 community version? On my Jolla phone i have a G4 (but this sim is from an other provider).

Hi, Thank you for you answer. I tried re-flashing the device without the sim card and then I re-tried the 2 slots. My sim card is not detected in any of the 2 slots :-( Any idea?

Hi @Seb, good to see another Kiwi around. You don't happen to be situated in Wellington, do you? Imagine we could start a SFUG!

Unfortunately I cannot help with your immediate issue. The only thing that I can add is that a 2degrees SIM card works without problem in my Jolla phone (all SFOS of 2015 up to 2.0.0.10). So I would assume that should rule out 2degrees as well as SFOS (official) as the culprit.

As you have already proven that the hardware works (same SIM in same device under Android), I wonder where to look next?!? Could that be a problem of the community edition? I understand the porter community has a separate communication channel. May be worth approaching them?

I would suggest trying a different sim card if possible and if that solves the problem then ordering a new sim from your network provider. I am currently running the alpha1 in my FP2 with no sim-card problems.

Hi, there was also another case of SIM card not being detected just yesterday and we found out that the Android installed before installing Sailfish was incorrect (too new). Installing the 1.1.7 release of Fairphone Android before Sailfish fixed the problem for that person, could the same be the case for you?

Hi, I think my problem comes from the sim slot itself. As I am currently running the Fairphone open OS and can only use the 2nd sim slot. As soon as Sailfish OS can handle the 2nd slot I switch back to it :-) Thank you again guys
