google calendar looses all local modifications

When I create a new event or modify an existing event on a calendar from my google account, afew minutes later, I see all events from this.calendar disappear, and get resrored to their original state shortly after.
My google account is correctly configured as two-way sync.
I tried to delete google account, rm -rf .local/share/system/privileged/Calendar/mkcal/, then recreate google account. The bug persists.
Note that I did a factory reset of my device a month ago, so everything should be clean...
This bug is very annoying, I cannot rely on my mobile to note down events, and if I forget about this bug, I loose important information.
could this be a duplicate of https://together.jolla.com/question/132112/2017-google-calendar-sync/ ? Install any android calendar app and you're back to work. Jolla are working busily on the issue.
