"Problem with sync" when too many messages in an imap folder

Hi,

I'm using SailFish OS 2.0.0.10

When I go to the "Sent" imap folder and select "Update", Sailfish only downloads the emails I sent from my Jolla but does not download the other emails and it says "Problem with sync".

After a few "Get more message" in the "Inbox" folder, I get the same : "Problem with sync" error.

It seems that the reason is that : there are too many messages in the folder.

Can anyone tell how to change the maximum imap messages number (or maximum total imap folder size) ?

I currently have ~4500 in Inbox and ~1500 in Sent, no problems

I have ~6100 in Inbox and ~2700 in Sent.

Maybe the limits are 4096 for Inbox and 2048 for Sent.

Do you know where does the application store its data on the filesystem ?

No, sorry :( The only thing I know is that mail attachments are in ~/Downloads/mail_attachments

The Sailfish e-mail client has been performing poorly with large IMAP accounts, large IMAP folders and/or slow IMAP servers for ever - see for example https://together.jolla.com/question/88743/creating-imap-account-in-mail-app-fails-with-large-number-of-folders/ . With my home IMAP server (which works fine with any other mail client I use on any platform), I cannot even create the account...
