Title is quite self explanatory. We don't need a desktop folder on a mobile in our home. We can delete it but each time Browser is started it recreates it without an apparent reason. Don't know if it's a Browser specific bug, or it is related to Gecko.

@ossi1967 - I think what the OP means is this;

Using a file browser, delete the Desktop folder in nemo and then open the web browser. Now look back in nemo, the desktop folder has reappeared.

@Aldo - If my interpretation is correct, please update/edit your question, making it more 'self explanatory' for others.

On another note; I just tried hiding the Desktop folder by renaming it .Desktop - the folder is now hidden. Open the web browser and look back in nemo. The Desktop folder is back, while the Desktop folder I hid, still remains out of view (not removed), but replaced with a new Desktop file.

I'm guessing there is good reason this folder to spawn each time it's deleted/hidden

The question is clear enough for me. And yes, .Desktop and Desktop are two different folder names.

There are a few bug reports about this at bugzilla.mozilla.org, some dating back to 2008. It seems Gecko creates a default download directory even though a user-defined download directory is set. Some bug reports include fishy workarounds to avoid this happening, but I doubt Jolla will patch the browser enginge if not even the Firefox crew thinks it's worth fixing.

Oh damn, I knew it was Gecko... so no solution here.
