Hi,

I tried to add the 2G/3G Menu as Favorite Toggle, but it did not work. Is it somehow possible?

If not, it would be a nice feature for the phone: Be able to do a quick toggle between 2G and 3G instead of having to go deep in the settings menu. I do not know if is possible a a "Favorite Toggle" or maybe as an App that does so. In N9 there was an app that did so.

From the technical stats, our beloved Jolla should use less power on 3G than on 2G and yet with all other phones I had massive drain of battery when using dual-mode or 3G this has not come to my attention yet, at least not any drastical like with N900 where I had 4h stby on 3G when in my flat.

It works. Go in Settings app, "Mobile network". Then a long hold on the switch with the name of your provider. You will see the possibility to have this toggle directly in favorites one on the first screen of Settings app.

It doesn't work for me. We can only toggle "2g only"/"prefer 3g" from here but you can't add it to favourites. We can only add data roaming toggle.

No, that is not what I meant. What you say is for enabling/disabling the mobile data connection. I am talking about the network mode 2G/3G (and maybe in the future 4G).

I like to use 2G for consuming less battery.

It disables 3G network but not 2G so I suppose it is about the same use that you want.

As far as I know it disables only the data connection. Phone calls can be made using either 2G or 3G as well as data connections. They can be made on both modes (2G-GPRS, 3G-UMTS, 3.5G-HDSPA ...)

Ok I see, I slightly misunderstood ;)

As you guys all use the answer to comment... I add an answer ;)

Make the 2G/3G toggle available as favourite-item in settings

Please note that the Jolla technical stats say that it has more talk/stby-time on 3G than on 2G and I did not recognize any heavy power-drain yet and my 3G signal strength is weak at home and used to drain a Sony or my N900 within 4h depending on where I left it in my apartment.

While waiting this to be solved in settings you can use third party software Radio Switcher to control this: https://openrepos.net/content/penguin/radio-switcher

I like it too. I wish there' s a way to lock jollaphone to 3g only, i had this on with n9 and i had no problems, but now jolla keep switching to 2g too often.
