I imported contacts from sim card to Jolla, but the question is when I add a new contact, is Jolla saving the contact to sim card?

I guess it doesn't save anything to SIM card.

Thanks for answer. How safety copy is working? Can you just import backimp only contacts?

Correct, nothing is written to the SIM card. I don't believe any modern phone systems will write contacts to SIM cards any longer.

@MattVogt: not by default, no, but many offer the option to copy or move contacts to SIM. Results vary of course because of limited information possible on a SIM contact, and varying smartness of converting a full-fledged contact to a SIM contact (which phone number to store etc.)

Copying and moving contacts could be added as optional feature if someone still wants to have "backup" on sim card for contacts at some point.

Please vote for the following question to get the option of beeing able to save contacts to the SIM: https://together.jolla.com/question/23127/full-control-over-contacts-and-their-storage-location-in-people-app/ :)
