Having difficulty syncing music collection from Ubuntu 15.10 to Jolla Tablet

Trying to either transfer (or copy) my /Music collection from Ubuntu 15.10 across to my Jolla Tablet.
At first I tried using GRSYNC but that won't allow syncing to the tablet.
Next I try a straight copy of the /Music directory on Ubuntu to the /Music dir on the tablet. This will work fine for 15 or 20 minutes or so and then just suddenly hang. No errors, no warnings, just hangs.
I can successfully copy the entire music library to other external drives, and there are no file file errors, the data is good.
What's going on and what's the best way to transfer a large amount (about 20Gb) of data?
This rings a bell somewhere in the darkest corners of my brain. I remember having read something here about file transfers mysteriously failing after a while if the device enters sleep mode. I cannot find the thread (I'm not even sure if it was here on together.jolla.com or elsewhere) nor can I remember the outcome of the discussion. Still, if you're interested you could try to make sure that the Jolla phone is fully awake during the file transfer. (You didn't mention it, but I assume you left it unattended and didn't count the files coming in one by one.)
