Got this this morning:

Dear Turing Phone Supporters,

It has been a long wait and finally the Turing Phone is in the production stage. We will ship starting at the end of April for select customers and complete our delivery throughout the month of May 2016.

In the coming days, our customer service department will be sending you an email notifying you of the delivery status of your phone and confirmation of your shipping address.

Thank you,

Turing Phone Team TRI

Does it mean there is a usable new release (almost) ready?

Guess they will send their product not before they have a software...(;-) hehe)
First was promised with sfos (was android before). but why not android if it was the first os proposed at the first time... otherwise it will be paused until the wished one is finished (logic)...
I'm curious on how it will managed.

I hope this will not become a disaster like the tablet. This does not sound too good: http://reviewjolla.blogspot.de/2016/02/promise-on-sailfish-os-turing-phone-by.html#more On the other hand there is support for a biometric scanner mentioned here: http://reviewjolla.blogspot.de/search/label/BiometricScanner This could be for the Turing phone. There is certainly something going on behind the scenes and Jolla managed to remain silent. I hope for a positive surprise soon!

i don't think so. it may be have some delay. but if we know that jolla has nothing to do for the hardware management. Then it is easier to manage. The tablet was a part which was too big for jolla but makable, sadly (my opinion) was the point of view of the investor who made it as chaos. I don't know, but even if i could undestand how an investor could be unsatisfied for a delay (no matter how big it could be) he engaged himself. Disengagement is in every term of conditions bad. but that is an other discussion, and is just my point of view.

Important is to remark that here jolla is just involved for the software. Delay might just be, because of other engagements like intex and fairphone. Should not be an excessive one in term for weeks (or month) i think
