Device-related treat? Will they sell us a batch of Aqua Fishes?

It could be a special TOH with the total amount of Jolla's debt engraved. ;-)

@Giacomo Di Giacomo I expect they sell the remaining stock of Jolla phones at a special price... Maybe with a little glitter to make it seem more attractive. (Spare battery? Free Other Halves in previously unavailable colors?)

... anyhow, in prinicple it's great news to read that yet another year is secured financially. I was under the impression that they'd gathered just enough money to avoid bankrupcy, but were far from resuming normal operations. It seems funding for a whole year is as close to "normal operations" as it gets with Jolla. :D (And no, this is not meant to sound negative. I still admire their courage and stamina.)

OK, yet another comment: Did I miss something before or is this press release the first time Jolla mentions the Turing Phone on its official channels?

I'll consider this "a light in the tunnel". No matter what trolls or detractors say.

I'm looking forward to another year of "monthly" upgrades. A year of exciting developing software, and hopefully new hardware.

Thank you Jolla, for the past best portabel years of my life. For best free OS, that is yet to come.

Simply... Thank you Jolla!

Something new cooking for the Sailfish OS community As a new item in Jolla’s current plans is a very special program for all the Sailfish OS developers and community members. Dr. Saarnio comments: “We are soon announcing the program officially, but what I can say already now is that it will include a special device related treat for our fans. I personally can’t wait to announce it! Our team is tweaking the offering now –look out for the announcement in a few weeks.”

Does that mean what I think it means ? A new dev device ?

No, it is not a device, but a device related treat. So it is a treat, something nice. And it is related to your device.... So maybe it is a very nice battery, maybe in a nice pink color.... Or a TOH we have not seen before. Or maybe a new ambiance... Whatever....

Seriously, I am so much hoping it might be full Jolla support for a PuzzlePhone SFOS brain. That would make me so happy I would have to cry.

Announcing a fully Jolla supported SFOS version for the FairPhone2 would be the second best thing.

Anything below that I would shatter my good hopes for Jolla's future as I regard it as crucial for Jolla to have a reference device that offers the original SFOS experience without any alterations and restrictions being put into place for a licensing partner. I wouldn't mind if such an officially supported community edition would come with an annual subscription fee or what ever, but we need at least one fully functional reference platform to survive.

A new battery would be good, mine has just nose dived in regards to how long it lasts!
