On N9 I had a very useful app to show my calendar event entries on the Events home screen. Especially useful for birthdays, appointments, etc. It would be nice to have the same functionality built in into SailfishOS and have the calendar entries and alarms appear in Jolla Events screen.

EDIT(14/09/15): This has been improved upon in Early Access Release 1.1.9.28

New Calendar widget displays your upcoming events

@hewi On N9 they were persistent.

I second this, as I used the "Organiser Feed" app on my N9 (tried the "Calendar Feed" app earlier on, but prefered the "Organiser Feed" app).
Lower part of the Events screen (the swipe up one) would be a suitable place: not in the way, no major worries about privacy, but still easily accessible.

@otto it is not a duplicate because "lock screen" is not "events view" these are two different screens

I believe this feature is coming in the Sailfish OS 2.0 as you can see this in an MWC 2015 photo.

The current situation is, shortly and honestly said, crappy. The Events view only shows two events from the current day and the events are dismissed when the start time has passed, so this makes it more or less useless.

If you have more than two events for the day, only two are shown at a time. If you have a week long event, it dissapears after the start time has passed. Birthdays will never show because they are all day events, starting fromm 00:00 and events don't show in the previous day and they are dismissed after start time.

But to answer your question, no you need to go to Settings and do the following:

  • Select System
  • Select Events
  • Tap on Calendar

Then you'll have the events from your calendar, two of them. :)

There's an open topic for the lack of features in the current Events view about the calendar events, see the question: calendar-and-the-definition-of-upcoming

Which patch provides this functionality?

@lomo: "Control center in events view" is the name of the patch. More informations here: https://openrepos.net/content/sevanteri/patchmanager-eventview-controls
