i hear you. I know you sailors have alot to do. But the sooner the better in order to have time to polish stuff. Inclusion in the OS is another matter.

I want to include the most requested language(s) first, but those have been translated in Transifex, so I would like to import those strings before opening the language (to avoid double work); however at the moment I am investigating licencing policy of Transifex, and also ability to credit at least the major part of contributors (transifex:pootle username mapping), but looks like it will all prove to be challenging.

So in the meantime I considering just adding those languages to Pootle which have no transifex heritage (start fresh)

How long does the poll last? We have been asking for Dutch language support even before first Jolla device appeared. All MeeGo text strings have been translated, we participated in the Transifex project (every possible text string has been translated) and of course, the Dutch users are quite active in the scene. Yet still no support for our language. Yes, I know, we Dutch are well known for our foreign language capabilities, but we still want our own language supported. So, yes, we are ready to help, but someone has to make it possible for us to participate. And please, do so, before bork or klingon is added to https://translate.sailfishos.org/

Please be patient, we are first implementing ability to download a language pack from Jolla store (snapshot weekly of translate.s.o), so you can instantly use it on your devices, validate how text flows, and be able to easier spot strings that frequently show up during daily use yet are still untranslated (important for languages which are not as fully translated as Dutch). After that strings from Transifex will be imported. There is not much sense to do things the other way round.

In the meantime please continue translating on Transifex (the creation of RPMs from there is already available by your L10n leaders)
