I'd like to be able to set/add a WiFi network starting from its settings, not necessary when it is near and connectable. I mean, hidden WiFis or particular WiFis like business ones, Academic ones that require special settings or certificates.

EDIT 2018-04: not yet added in v2.1.4

Do you mean you want to connect to a WiFi from the Events screen? You can already have the shotcut to WiFi settings in the Events and connect to a network from there. I know it's a few steps and it would be faster to just tap a button, but with the current options available I don't see Jolla implementing a connect to WiFi -button also. Nontheless, this is a good idea and would be a nice add to the UI.

Very good request!

With serious devices you can enter the credentials manually, then connect.

Which is fine.

Jolla does it the stupid-user-way: First connect then make the connection persistent. Which frequently fails due to the limited capabilities of WiFi on Jolla (it troubled me from the first moment on this stupid method).

Yes, there are people who want to type the credentials! Demand is real!

@raketti No, I mean set a WiFi before touching it. Set credentials and other parameters before getting in touch with it. Some WiFis are hidden or need to be set before connecting to them.

@dietmar exactly

@palikao, ah, ok. So a manual connect to WiFi option. I can see a Hidden network on the list, but you are absolutely right, there's no option to manually connect.
