I was googling this quite a bit and I am surprised I seem to the only one having this issue but I guess I missed the buzzwords. I use google calendar (switching calendar is no option) and I have my whole day scheduled from morning 7:30 to Evening 10 at least with notifications/reminders into portions of approximately 2 hours.

The issue: the reminders can not be dismissed. The phone keeps on reminding me for at least 30 times and it is only some weird combination of gestures - probably inducing some exception - that gets me to stop it from recurring. Sometimes it stops recurring for a bit but after some 10 minutes starts recurring again which has such nice consequences as draining the battery overnight and thus "disabling" the alarm in the morning (by shutting off the phone).

This is a big deal. The extreme consequence I mentioned above is obviously problematic. But I spend more than 40 minutes every day trying to dismiss reminders, am disrupted during work and have to charge my phone twice a day because I just give up at some point.

If this can be fixed, great. Otherwise this OS might not be right for me and I will have to wait for Arch Linux Phone. I am on 2.0.1.11. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, this might be it. There is no answer there though.

As you wish. I guess, this indicates, that we won't find a solution.

I am afraid, we will not get a solution at once. Bear with the community. :)
