Display contact number in call history

I would also propose that the phone number should be visible on calling screen and also when receiving call.

This is necessary because different numbers may respond differently; if I call a work phone outside of office hours, the call may be diverted to a different person or an exchange - even if the person called from their personal number.

I second that request. Sometimes you want to send a message to caller in history but if you can't see if the call was done by a normal (old) phone that doesn't support SMS, the option "Send message" doesn't make any sense. Thus it would be great to be able to distinguish between those numbers.

I would also like to see the category and the sub-category of the phone number called. Ex. Mobile/Work or Mobile/Personal.

I now happen to have all four entries of a single contact on my history and yes I just called the wrong number from it... went to people to figure the right one... this is nothing like useful at all! Call history in phone is therefor broken for good!

Very much needed feature..

If you go forward to the contact-card from an SMS, you will see, from which number your contact sent the sms - the phone highlights the relevant number. In my mind, Jolla just have to adopt this behaviour for the call history and everything would be fine.

I'd prefer a solution that incorporated a fix for contacts labels (including icons) and adding an icon to the call log

I have this problem, but wouldn't vote for showing the number, as most people don't remember them. I have the numbers marked as "Home" or "Work" in my contacts, so why not just simply show that?

@Setok that is why we are after a pictograph (house,factory,mobilephone) plus the number - dtf, without knowing I can tell from most numbers if they are landline or mobile, for some even diff work from home.

@chemist I don't think a pictograph works. I'm betting they will be hard to tell apart, but also I have contacts with phone number fields such as "iPhone", "Skype", "UK" etc. Ie. more than just the usual home/work. Surely the easiest and most obvious solution is to simply show the field, as text, beside the name. Nobody remembers numbers these days, so that would be all but useless.

@Setok that sounds like a good option, how about have the user choose what to display? For the pictographs... that is what pictographs are there for - to be easy to tell apart. There is so much space around the history entries that you may even add all of it at once pic - name - number but I'd prefer pic and number as there are some entries with me that would show a mobile, a factory, written Work::Mobile and an ~9 digit number. For your nobody remembers, I have contacts I just dial the number.
