Having multiple accounts in the same email app always makes me fearful of sending from the wrong account, so I installed K9 Mail to use alongside the Sailfish mail app, as others here seemed to be using it. It works OK until I press 'Reply' or 'Compose new message' and then I always get the message "Unfortunately K-9 mail stopped". Does anybody know why this is, and how to fix it?

Thank you! :)

Not sure how to do that to be honest but it seems the problem is that it can't find the drafts folder for my gmail account, there are K9 internal errors which say the folder is non existent.

ok so it seems to be a problem relating to saving to the 'Drafts' folder. It affects replies and new compositions. Here is the error:

Did you try changing the drafts folder? Is the drafts folder a local or remote folder?

Yes, I tried moving from local to remote folder on gmail, it made no difference. Then tried adding a non google imap account and it suffers the same problem. Thank you for responding!

Does anybody know why this is,

You seem to address K-9 issue #3498, right?

and how to fix it?

If so, enable Settings --> Android Support --> Allow Android apps to access your contacts.

If not, it is something specific to your IMAP Draft folder. See, if the folders configured in K-9 / expected by K-9 are present in the webfrontend of your email provider and create them there, if necessary. This resolved similar issues for me.

Yes, allow access to your contacts should fix the problem. I had the same problem in the past.
