Hi, what exactly is the dual sim capability of Jolla C? Does it support 4G on one sim and 3G on the other? or is something else?

Is also dual stanby or dual active?

Also, can data connection be switched between sims (for example if sim1 has no coverage use temporarily sim2 cell connection for data) or to do that I have to manually swap sims in their slots?

Thank you.

Both sims can be used in 4G but not at the same time. Data connection can be switched manually from settings. From settings you can also switch preferred connection(4G/3G/2G) for sim 1 and sim 2. There is no need to swap sims in their slots. In Jolla C we have dual stanby.

I hope this answers to your questions. :)

for everyone else, who's not that firm with the terminology: Dual standby phones, such as those running on Mediatek chipsets, allows both SIMs to be accessed through time multiplexing. When making or receiving calls, the modem locks to the active channel; the other channel would be ignored and thus unavailable during the duration of the call.

out of curiosity: if a data connection is made with sim1, is sim2 then reachable via call/sms? and is the internet connection dropped during a call on the other sim?

Yes sim2 is reachable via call/sms when data connection is made with sim1. And yes data connection is dropper during the call.

@Nrsisti, i have jolla c in dual sim with calls/sms on sim 1 and data on sim2. It seems to interfere or not keep sim1 active for calls when using sim 2 for data. if i swich data back to sim1 it suddenly has signal again...
