Compass inaccurate [duplicate]

Is there any way to make the Sailfish compass more accurate? I tried calibrating by 8-movement and rotation but it doesn't seem like it's calibrating automatically. Curiously, Android compass apps seem to deviate in the oppisite direction, so I get a better result by taking the mean value.
hi @anonymous1 and welcome to TJC. calibrating takes a long time (for me ~2min). but it still has big problems (inaccurate up 90°) as also described here and has problems upside down. therefore im closing this as duplicate. next time you want to report or ask sth please check if someone else already did before you using the search function :-)
