First users found out yesterday that 2.0.2.45 is upgradable since "release" of Jolla C device at the community event.

This is not official, no complains on bricked phones please.

We have many people over at TMO who successfully updated with no or slight problem though. Only try if you are desperate for some tinkering, know how to unbrick and generally what you are doing if typing into console

ssu release 2.0.2.45
version --dup

There is also a lower 2.0.2.43 some users upgraded to. It is possible to take the steps from 2.0.1.11 to 2.0.2.43 to 2.0.2.45. One problem reported was incomplete update. If you encounter any problems after first attempt, try again to possibly fix it.

Imho the update optimized in regards to Alien Dalvik "niceness" and Browser stability. If you are unsure, please wait for official release and changelog!

It's also possible to force the Jolla Store application to upgrade to a specific version (as explained here). This uses the standard upgrade routines and thus is a bit safer than version --dup.

Things I've spotted during my time on 2.0.2 (using it since a week or so). It's pretty feature packed, so I may have forgotten something:

  • New "Storage" page in Settings
  • Simple file manager built-in
  • Dual sim support
  • There is an option to avoid launching Alien Dalvik at boot
  • Character counter in Messages (must be enabled in Settings)
  • Call recorder
  • Undo option for Camera settings
  • Reboot button on powermenu (must be enabled in Settings)
  • A bunch of new languages and keyboard layouts
  • Reworked Media app home page
  • New Flashlight setting shortcut
  • Quick actions can now be put into the Lockscreen shortcuts (yay!)
  • "Flip to silence calls and alarms" can now be disabled via UI
  • The Web Browser now opens links in a new tab (yaaay)
  • The Web Browser can now close every tab on exit

Curiosity got better of me, updated from 2.0.1.11 to 2.0.2.45. So far all good, update with terminal went smoothly. I dont have android support or patches on my phone.

I updated yesterday but have some small issues:

  • When I open bigger menu folders I see the folder being build up (the icons are painted one by one). It builds up pretty fast but clearly slower than 2.0.1.11 where you didn't see that.
  • Alien dalvik is eating up a lot of RAM (memory leak maybe?)
  • SD card access uses a lot of CPU power. Couple that with the point above (swap on SD card to give alien dalvik more air) and you can't use any android app anymore (the phone will simply become unusable cause all CPU power is given to mmcqd/1).

Is my update corrupted or is anyone able to confirm that?

//EDIT: I just looked at journalctl -b 0 and I see a lot of

Jun 19 09:36:17 Sailfish kernel: mmcblk1: timed out sending SET_BLOCK_COUNT command, card status 0x40
Jun 19 09:36:17 Sailfish kernel: mmcblk1: command error, retrying timeout

as well as

Jun 19 09:36:17 Sailfish kernel: Write-error on swap-device (179:32:1237120)

//EDIT²: A lot means a few hundred lines per second.

//EDIT³: Another thing is that the phones hostname changed from jolla to sailfish, confusing my network setup. But that's a minor issue.
