Disabling Google calendar sync in accounts menu does not remove the google calendar option from the calendar app settings. I think the calendar should not be visible in the calendar app (or should be disabled by default) after the calendar syncing has been disabled for that account in settings->accounts. Not tested on CalDAV accounts.

Ok. I think it is somewhat counter intuitive, although, it gives more power to the user.

Edit: removed implications that this would be a bug.

This is currently expected behaviour. The calendar will remain, but will not be synced from or to. It will be removed from the database only if the account is removed.
