yes in the store are screenshot apps. But they need to be started, a timer is running and you have to get to the interesting content just in time. Please provide a shortcut with the keys or a gesture - whatever. E.g. press power and volume down simultaneously (or other combinations). Even the fruit company can do that. Jolla can do better, be #unlike!

I want the basic "power & volume +" to take screenshots. Also I'd like to take them by covering the proximity sensor (of course this function would turn off when calling someone). I hope this answer bumps this question back to the top of Together.
I also think that power + volume up (with possibility to change it power+volume down for the devices which has powerbutton under volumebuttun unlike Jolla) is the way to go. People coming from example Android / WP would be familiar with this functionality + it wouldn't be problem for those who want to use app, pulley whatever, since power+volume isnt used currently anyways.

My suggestion would be that they could use the same technique as the apps, but from the notifications screen. If they add a pulley option "take screenshot" to the menu and it starts a countdown you would only have to dissmiss the notifications. The plus side to this is that notifications are available everywhere.

As Sailfish OS provides great multitasking, could you accept this as an answer: ScreenTapShot released 3 months ago in Jolla Store provides screenshot also without a timer.
Edit: As the original author and updater of this question has last seen on Sep 29 '14 and Jul 21 '14, what do others think, does ScreenTapShot answer to this question?

Three finger swipe from outside the screen would be better than key combinations.

Iam really missing that Feature! It´s a MUST even my Windows Phone can do it and MS changed the combination for this already for better ergonomics (from Home + Power to Power + Vol. Rocker).

Yeah I would really like something that would use the front camera and whenever I close my eyes hard it would take a screenshot. It just takes someone to programm this :)

I have another suggestion, like in "Belle Extra Buttons" app for Nokia Belle. Just touch the Right/left top corner of your screen to take screen shot instantaneously. Works very well. I would like it in sailfish os-if I may :)

Yep, this would be nice to have. On the BB10 it very easy to get screenshots, just pressing volume +/- at the same time, something like that would work. But just fyi, from the CLI, grabscreen is your friend if you didn't know.
