During an IM conversation, every time the other party writes a message there is a beep tone and and a vibration, even though the chat is in focus.

In a busy conversation this makes the handset vibrate constantly while you're trying to type, which becomes quickly quite annoying. Especially while the keyboard vibrates at the same time too.

There should either be no vibration while in focus or then it should be configurable for those who need physical feedback while reading the chat.

There shouldn't be any notification, not even a beep, imo. as you clearly can see the activity. But preferably it should be configurable.

It should definitely be configurable.

@Mohjive: Having the chat open doesn't mean you're actively looking at it. Some kind of notification is required.

@ossi1967 quite right. Usually your attention is fully devoted to staring at the keyboard... A small "tick" sound like on N9 or on Android hangouts is a good indication of what's happening. But the constant vibration is more than annoying and should definitely not happen.

@ossi1967: maybe required by you (and many others), but not for me. I'd rather not have it. My use case is that if I'm in the chat I see the screen and thus don't need any notification. I never leave my Jolla on the table with the screen unlocked, so then I will get the normal notification.
