Daily Workflow Jolla Phone and misc device (Laptop etc.)

I have used the jolla phone quite some time now. Mainly for basic activities. Just for making calls, short messages and checking emails.

I want to use it extensively now. In the way that contacts, calendar appointments, music and photo files, bookmarks etc. gets synchronized in some way with a laptop or by other means.

The actual questions are: How the conceptual ecosystem looks like? What sync ways are mainly integrated by design into the applications of jolla/sailfischOS? How is the community doing this type of activities?

I really appreciate any input ...

the most convenient way is to set-up carddav / caldav accounts, for photos there are some external apps (a unofficial owncloud app allows to upload pictures as soon as they are captured).

but: some combinations are prone to produce problems.

talking just for me: since 1.7 or so, the combination sailfish and owncloud works like a charm, some other people still seem to have some glitches (one-way sync only and similar).

Depending on what you want to do in detail, have a look here: https://together.jolla.com/question/129482/jollacommunicator-20/

Thanks to all for the input - owncloud seems promising but also a big service that has to be maintained. I will start looking at "syncthing" ...
